Decorate with Beige Sofa, Black & White Damask accent

Don't you love the Black&White accents used through-out this room? If everything was just black and white in the room, it would been just that - a black & white room. What really sets this room apart is the black&white theme has been used against the backdrop of neutral colors like beige & taupe. All the big pieces that is the the walls, sofa, bench, floor are all in varying shades shades of beige or taupe. But all the accent pieces like the pillows, throws, lamps, chairs, vase are in Black&White!

The Black&White accent transcends this room to another level. Damask print in Black&White is my all time favourite. Vary the Black&White ratio in the accent pieces, you are going to use. For example put a black&white damask pillow, a black pillow with a touch of white, a beige throw with a black accent. Also, remember if you ever thirst for color in your room, it would be just a matter of changing couple of throw pillows.

Resources: You can find black&white accent pillows & throws at Kohls in the bedding section. Beautiful vases in HomeGoods and TJMAX, Gorgeous Table Lamps at Target, HomeGoods.

  2. Please advise me, if I were to use a black rug and black blinds with a similar design as above would that be ok

  3. Black rug will look good, but I would advise against going with black blinds. Instead try go with either neutral color or try to match the color of the wall for the blinds. As black blinds would suck up all the energy. Black in small doses works very well.

  6. Cathy,
You got a great color scheme going there.
Black n white makes a great accent, but don't go overboard with it. So
    1. Go with neuttral Rug
    2. Add a green throw pillow along with other black and white pillows to tie in the wall color with the rest of the room.
    3. For evrything else that you need to add to the room - go with either black or white or beige

  12. Well chosen Curtains can create a warm and inviting space, so I would suggest:
Color: Pick curtains either in darker shade of your wall color or in darker shade of your couch. Depending on whether you want more green or taupe in your room.
Texture: A slight sheen in drapes goes along way. Also make sure the texture of the curtains is different than your sofa as that creates interest in the room.
Painting: Your color scheme is lovely green walls, beige sofa with black and white damask pillows. To create drama pring in a painting in completely different color like red. Or to create a warm and relaxing space get paintings/prints in black and white. Both style will look fabulous !!

  16. I have a small living room. The walls are a burnt or rusty orange. my accents are all black & white. My kitchen is connected to my living room. I love the B&W theme, but I'm thinking about changing the wall color because we want a new sectional. Our couches are a light beige which is very boring for us now. We want a darker color, but having a darker sectional will make the room even darker. Any great paint color suggestions? I have what I like to call an eclectic traditional style.
